Looking to tackle weight loss and maintain muscle mass during menopause? Look no further than this week’s episode of Hello, Hot Flash, where I interviewed our guest Kimberly Juul, a registered dietitian, and personal trainer specializing in weight loss and endurance sports nutrition. We discussed the importance of balance in diet and exercise plans, emphasizing the need for various proteins, carbs, and fats alongside strength training techniques to maintain bone and muscle health.
Beyond diet and fitness, Kimberly also touches on the importance of mindset and discipline when reaching weight loss and fitness goals. She explores the power of stepping outside one's comfort zone to promote growth and self-discovery. Kimberly delves into how nutrition requirements can change during perimenopause and menopause and why protein intake is imperative for midlife women seeking to retain muscle mass.
Additionally, listeners can expect insights into exercises that promote bone health and prevent osteoporosis, alongside tips for finding the right personal trainer to guide them through heavier lifting. Kimberly also advises choosing a qualified personal trainer who understands the unique needs of women's bodies during menopause and beyond.
