In This Episode
In this interview, Dr. Stacey Francis, Chiropractic Kinesiologist, explains why we shouldn't wait until something dangerous happens to us or to people around us before we treat brain fog. Brain fog can be a serious condition that affects our ability to think clearly and make decisions. Listen in as she shares some clear steps for treating this common midlife problem.
Here are some episode highlights:
- There are many other causes of brain fog apart from lack of sleep or stress. Blood sugar imbalances, hormone imbalances, anemia, and inflammation can all contribute to brain fog. It's important to identify the root cause of your brain fog to treat it effectively.
- A chiropractic kinesiologist can help you correct imbalances in the body by using chiropractic tests and adjustments. Muscle testing is a useful tool for identifying what's going on in the body and identifying any stressors that may be contributing to brain fog.
- It's important for us not to be constantly stuck in a fight-or-flight state and to be in a rest-and-digest state from time to time. Practices such as meditation, deep breathing, yoga, walking, and praying can all help us achieve this state and reduce stress.
- Heavy periods could mean that you are losing a lot of iron, which can cause fatigue and brain fog. A ferritin test can help you determine if you have an iron deficiency.
- Having sufficient folate in the body can help reduce brain fog and other mental health symptoms. Folate, or vitamin B9, is an important nutrient that plays a role in brain function and mental health.
- Skipping meals can cause your brain to be attracted to the wrong types of food, leading to blood sugar imbalances and brain fog. It's important to fuel your body regularly to keep your brain functioning at its best.
- The “1 plus 2 every 3 to 4 equals 12” method can help with brain fog and overall health. This means having one serving of protein and two servings of vegetables every 3-4 hours in a 12-hour period.
